Published by Fourth Realm Digital Communications Nigeria Limited, the Port Harcourt Telegraph made its entry unto the newsstand on March 1, 1999. As its name suggests, the newspaper is based in Port Harcourt city, which serves as the capital of the Rivers State, one of Nigeria's foremost oil producing states.

It has its founder, Prince Ogbonna Nwuke as the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief. Between 1999 and 2007, the Port Harcourt Telegraph which circulates in states outside the Rivers State has transformed into the flagship of what is today known as the Port Harcourt press.
