The current President of the Nigeria Guild of Editors, Mustapha Isah has been re-elected for another tenure in office.

According to feelers that the  Port Harcourt Telegraph is getting from Kano, venue of this year’s Biennial Convention, counting of votes cast in the presidential race which lasted late into the night have been completed, and the result declared.

We are also learning that the results of other seats which were up for contest have been released.

Most Delegates who participated in the biennial convention despite security threats across the country say they cast their votes for Isah due to the way he managed  affairs pertaining to the welfare of Editors in the print and electronic media, and the promotion of professional ethics.

Isah’s return for a second tenure signals an overwhelming vote of confidence passed on him by his colleagues who converged in Kano.

Others elected are Ali M. Ali Deputy President, Sam Egballa Vice President East, Kila H. Nuhu Vice President North, Iyobosa Uwugiaren General Secretary , Austeen Elewodalu Assistant Secretary General, Steve Nwosu Treasurer, and Eze Anaba Social Publicity Secretary,

Wole Sogunle was elected Standing Committee member West, Onuoha Ukah Standing Committee West, Gabriel Akinadewo, Standing Committee West, Umoru Ibrahim, Standing Committee North, Gbenga Adesina Standing Committee North, Ngwoke Ngwoke Standing Committee East and Boma Nwuke  Standing Committee East.

Mrs Nwuke is the only female in a male dominated executive. She was returned unopposed at the convention.
