Return of the big masquerade
The Presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu believed to have escaped abroad to deal with an unknown ailment has returned to country.
Bola Tinubu arrived Thursday evening after his stay out of the country became a subject of serious debate.
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu back in the country to do what he loves most – meeting Nigerians.
He was received by key officials of his team including the running mate, Kasim Shettima.
Sources say the Lagos strongman looked rested, trim and ready to lead the APC’s offensive.
“The trip was very good”, Tinubu told journalists on his return, “I enjoyed my break and I am happy to be back in my fatherland.”
“Your hope is back”, he assured Nigerians, especially his admirers who have remained steadfast.
In his absence, there were claims he had died as a result of an unspecified sickness, accusations that he had deliberately shunned the signing of the peace accord and speculations he is likely to abandon the APC’s presidential ticket.
The growth of Lagos, touted as proof of Tinubu’s political sagacity, managerial tenacity and strong leadership ability has been described by a recent report as one of the worst places on planet earth to live.
Tinubu who worked into the spotlight said Thursday, “Nigerians should expect a very intelligent ability to think and perform.”
Nigerians, he said, should expect the fact that help is near, saying “I am back actively.”
Tinubu’s return to the country means that the APC would soon kick-start its national campaign.
