Although there was no mention of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs when portfolios were originally assigned, the Presidency has finally named its Minister.
He is Engr. Abubakar Momoh who is to head the Ministry of Niger Delta Development as it is now known.

Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesman who disclosed this in a statement issued Sunday night said that the President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has also shuffled a few portfolios.
Adegboyega Oyetola, who was initially announced Minister of Transportation has be reassigned to the Ministry of Marine & Blue Economy.
Bunmi Tunji-Ojo now moves from Marine and Blue Economy to the Ministry of Interior.
Hon. Sa’idu Alkali will be sworn in as the Minister of Transportation.
The split in the Ministry of Petroleum which gave birth to two full fledged ministries has been reversed.
Both Ministers of State in the Oil & Gas sector are now to operate from the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
While Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri is to serve as the Hon. Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources, Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo is the Hon. Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources
The President further approved the renaming of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management.
It is to be known as the Federal Ministry of Environment.
The statement by Ajuri Ngelale added. “All aforementioned changes take immediate effect by these directives of the President.”
Recall that Niger Delta Ministry was missing in the list of ministries that was released last week.
This prompted controversy across the Niger Delta, with the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) vowing to resist any move to cancel the Ministry.
