Breaking: Trouble may break out in APC

Signs that trouble might be looming within the Rivers APC which is poised to organise congresses on Wednesday and Thursday to elect delegates are gradually emerging.

The disagreement is between forces loyal to the former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to information that is reaching our news desk, there are hints that a sudden change may have been effected at the last minute in the composition of the membership of an 11-man panel despatched by the National Secretariat of the APC to handle congresses in Rivers State.

The discovery of the change made in the membership of the team and the alleged change in the chairmanship of the body that is expected to take care of the exercise may lead to unforseen crisis.

There are equally allegations that members of the Congress organising committee may have hopped into fast moving vehicles purportedly provided by core Amaechi loyalists on arrival in the State.

Supporters of Senator Magnus Abe who are aligned to Tinubu’s campaign outfit are on the prowl, hunting for those who may be planning the manipulation of the process.

The Telegraph reports that given the antecedents set by the party, the primaries billed for Friday, if the issues are not quickly resolved, may be put in jeopardy.

The Telegraph is already on the trail of the breaking story. We shall be providing our readers with blow by blow accounts of events as they unfold.
