A high ranking member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Jacob Mark, has re-emphasised the right of the North Central zone to produce the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Mark who spoke Monday on NEWSDAY, a programme broadcast by Arise Television said that some persons who are not bigger than the party have been allowed to hold everyone in the PDP to ransom.
He said that although he may not be in possession of any concrete proof, it is not difficult to agree with all who are alleging that most of the officials occupying Wadata House at this time are working in cahoots with the APC to weaken the PDP.
He berated Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Secretary of the party for openly disregarding the decision of a superior Court of law and openly insisting that nothing will make him obey a court order asking him to step aside.
Speaking on Arise Television, Mark said it amounts to a ridicule of the rule of law and a great shame on the part of the PDP for Anyanwu, despite the order of the Court of Appeal, to restate his resolve to parade as the National Secretary.

He blamed leaders of the political party, including serving governors, for the lack of discipline within the party, saying the PDP as it is constituted cannot wrest power from the All Progressives Congress, APC, except certain drastic steps are taken to sanitize the party.
Mark accused Illiya Damagum, the Acting National Chairman of trying to perpetrate himself in office.
He said that despite knowing that the position he has refused to vacate is meant to be occupied by someone from the North Central geopolitical zone, Damagum who should have acted for only three months in office has frustrated every effort to hold a meeting of the national leadership of the party to resolve issues.
Jacob Mark insisted that he would not be surprised, given previous experiences, if the proposed meeting of the party’s leadership which is billed for February, 2025 does not hold.
He urged PDP leaders to step up efforts to salvage the party from collapse, saying that it is rather a pity that the ruling party in the country is comfortable with the desire of certain bad eggs in some political parties to destroy all forms of opposition at its behest.
