Senator Barry Mpigi representing the Rivers South East Senatorial District says whatever the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike directs is what the Rivers National Assembly Caucus will do.
Mpigi was speaking at a new year luncheon organised in Port Harcourt on Sunday by the immediate past Governor of Rivers State.
He said that 10 members of the Rivers Caucus headed by Rt. Hon Kingsley Chinda who attended the luncheon are solidly behind Wike whom he said has worked tirelessly for the interest of the State.
The Senator noted that the people of the Rivers South East are happy with President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

According to him, Wike made sure the South East Senatorial District not only got a gubernatorial candidate, but also ensured that the people who fall under the District also produced a governor.
He attributed the emergence of Fubara to the hard work put in by the supporters of the Minister and said the South East would continue to work intimately with the former governor.
Adding that Nigerians would always remember Wike’s struggle for the emergence of a Southern President, Mpigi said Rivers people are appreciative of the administration of President Tinubu and its determination to salvage the country.
Wike who performed a few dance steps at the occasion when his time came to speak reiterated the respect that he and members of his team have for President Tinubu.
The Minister said in his new year message to his political associates that his mission is to make sure that the President who has started on a good note succeeds in his effort to transform the country.
“Follow who know road”, Wike told the Rivers people, saying that at the fullness of time, the picture of what will happen in Rivers State would become clearer.

Wike’s comment which may suggest that more difficult days lie ahead in Rivers State as the struggle for power ensues is coming against the backdrop of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s assertion that his march towards peace is not a product of fear.
Fubara who has continued to insist that no price is too big to pay in order to promote peace said at a state banquet to usher in 2024, “Every decision that we’ve taken is not borne out of fear but because we have the interest of our people and we have respect for elders”
“I’m appealing to everyone of us to embrace the peace”, Governor Siminalayi Fubara told his audience at Government House, “We need this peace because our intention for the state is not for our personal interest but that of the development of the State.”
