After 2 weeks in captivity, SAN returns home
By PHC Telegraph
Okey Wali, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and one-time President of the Nigeria Bar Association is now a free man.
The legal luminary regained freedom early Monday after his captors freed him from captivity.
Wali was seized around Obiri Ikwerre in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State about two weeks ago.
Unknown gunmen believed to be kidnappers snatched him at gunpoint and shot two of his aides who were with him at the time of the incident.

We cannot confirm if any ransom was paid before he regained freedom, but we have learnt that the victim of an indecent and inhuman trade has reunited with his loved ones.
Wali, a reputable lawyer, is widely known for his contributions to the development of the law and his defense of the rights of persons seeking justice.
Within family circles, there were sighs of relief as the father and chief breadwinner whose abduction had led to a manhunt by security agencies returned home safely.
It will be the second time that Okey Wali, a philanthropist and staunch community leader would be taken hostage by kidnappers.
On October 11, 2014, he was abducted in Port Harcourt shortly after he handed over as President of the NBA and was later released by his captors.
Records show that Wali served as the 26th President of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Media reports say priests who have been praying for his release were seen expressing gratitude to God at the family residence.
Earlier, a delegation of the NBA led by its national president, Yakubu Maikyau had visited the Wali family and later met with the Rivers State Commissioner of Police behind closed doors.
