APC: Wike’s Supporters Placed On Red Alert
By PHC Telegraph

Signs that Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory may be winding up operations in the Peoples Democratic Party, are gradually emerging.
The Minister is expected to be on the way home to the APC any moment from now according to feelers that we are receiving.
Wike whose group recently asked the Peoples Democratic Party to allow the people of Southern Nigeria to produce its next presidential candidate, has been one of those allegedly responsible for the crisis within the former ruling party.
The PDP has not been able to reach any consensus on any matter since the crisis erupted after the elective convention in Abuja in 2022.
Every effort made between 2023 and 2025 to hold a NEC or NWC meeting to reconcile differences and map out the way forward has failed.
Party leaders torn right down the middle by internal disagreements have been unable to rise to the occasion despite the establishment of the Saraki committee saddled with the task of making peace.
An insider told the Telegraph, “Wike has been running a script. He has succeeded in destroying the PDP from within. It is part of the deal that he reached with President Tinubu to cause an implosion within the party.
“Unknown to many PDP leaders, Wike who served as Governor in Rivers State has been in league with the Asiwaju long before he even participated in the PDP Convention that produced Atiku as a candidate.
“As you can see, Atiku and others are turning intense attention in the direction of the formation of a broad based coalition. Governors elected on the platform of the PDP are leaving. Their soul has left the PDP. Soon only Wike and his political supporters will inherit what is left.
“When Wike leaves, that definitely would be the burial of the PDP. It is no longer a matter of whether Wike would leave the party, he will leave. It is a matter of when he will leave.”
However, Wike’s assignment in the PDP may be coming rapidly to an end, given political reviews which show that the once dominant party is in no position to fight.
The President at a recent commissioning ceremony in Abuja gave Nigerians an indication of what may happen in a few weeks from now.
He said if Wike decides to join the APC, he would personally receive him. It was a clear sign perhaps that it is time for his crony to bail out of the rudderless ship before it sinks completely.
The greenlight by the President was not lost on Nigerians, least of all on Wike who has been in the field executing the plan of owners of the APC to destabilise other political parties, including the PDP.
Accordingly, we have learnt that key supporters of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory nationwide who are in the PDP have been asked to await further instructions.
Here in Rivers State, those key figures who operate with the man they refer to as “Nyerisi”, “Dikeogu” or “Naked Wire” have similarly passed information of their impending departure from the PDP to their people down the line.
They have been told in the meantime that their destination would be the APC where Wike has already set up outposts.
Tony Okocha, who insists he is the recognised chairman of the APC in the State is reportedly preparing the ground for the big event.
In Rivers State, several supporters of Wike have found their way into Tinubu’s administration.
Those who understand what is playing out say the infusion of Wike’s men into the APC government was the first step taken towards the official integration of Wike into the APC.
Elsewhere, across the nation, there are moves to accommodate Wike’s people at the subnational level as the APC prepares for 2027.
A group of people in the APC the other day angrily demonstrated against Wike in Abuja, claiming that his intrusion in APC matters is causing problems of a serious nature.
How the APC which for now is happy with Wike will handle emerging worries in its midst remains to be seen.
But with the President seemingly behind him, Wike and his supporters believe they can weather any storm.
