Rivers Peace Process: Fubara Thanks Tinubu
• Confirms that he has reconciled with Wike

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has lauded President Bola Tinubu for his untiring effort aimed at ensuring the restoration of peace to Rivers State.
The Governor who addressed Rivers stakeholders in Port Harcourt Thursday, said the President single-handedly drove the peace process which has resulted in the settlement of the political crisis.
Urging Rivers people to express gratitude to the President, Fubara affirmed that differences between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike and himself have been resolved in the overall interest of the State.
The Governor urged Rivers people to embrace peace, saying going forward, what is critical is how the State would benefit from the intervention of the President.
Fubara acknowledged that so many people had been worried by one of his comments which suggested that he was no longer enthusiastic about returning to Government House.
But he noted that following the reaction of Rivers people who besieged him at a he was about “to go to sleep”, he was now “wide awake” and ready to discharge his role as the Governor of the State.
Fubara stated that he hoped to work with members of the State House of Assembly to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
Taking a retrospective look at the activities of his administration in the last two years, the governor said he had done well in office.
He thanked his ardent supporters for their doggedness, perseverance and understanding, stressing that his resolve to serve has been ably enhanced by their love and commitment.
Delivering a vote of thanks, Chief Shedrack Akulokwu from ONELGA thanked Governor Fubara for his rare courage.
It was the first time since after the Federal Government declared a state of emergency and suspended democratic structures that the Rivers strongman would meet with stakeholders.
