Timi Alaibe has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the African Democratic Party, ADC. He is now to run as a gubernatorial candidate on the platform of the ADC which is believed to be championed by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Telegraph learnt Sunday that the party submitted Alaibe’s name to INEC shortly before the window to transmit the of names of candidates in the forthcoming governorship race in Bayelsa State was to close. Apparently, petitions written to the National Secretariat of the PDP by sponsors of the former Managing Director of the NDDC, protesting the declaration of Senator Douye Diri had failed to fly. When campaigns officially open, Alaibe would be among candidates shopping for votes from the people who are already gearing to choose the new occupant of Creek Haven.
