Newly sworn in commissioners who got marching orders to shun gubernatorial politics from Governor Nyesom Wike on Monday have bagged their portfolios.
The State Government which issued  portfolios to the commissioners Tuesday from the office of the Secretary to the State Government,  Dr Tammy Danagogo directed the new comers to resume work immediately.
According to the statement, Sir Sam Ejekwu is to serve in the Transport Ministry, Hon Austin Ben-Chioma as Commissioner for Works, Barrister Sylvanus Nwankwo, Employment Generation and Economic Development and Barrister Osimah Gina, Physical Planning and Urban Development
Others are Barrister Inime Chiwenwo Aguma, Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Mrs Ifeoma Nwankpa, Commerce and Industry, Dr Peter Medee, Energy and Natural Resources.
Dr Bariere Thomas is responsible  for Special Duties, Dr Fred Kpakpol, Agriculture, Mr Paulinus Nsirim, Information and Communication, Elder Tasie Chinedu, Housing, Mr Rodaford Long-John, local Government Affairs and Professor Kaniye Ebeku  Education.
Recall that the new commissioners were sworn in Monday by Governor Wike.
Speaking on that occasion, Governor Wike urged complete loyalty to his administration, and charged the commissioners to focus on the assignment,  warning that those found wanting would be relieved of their appointments.
From all indications,  the slot for the Ikwerre Local Government is yet to be filled.
Insiders say this may be as a result of ongoing infighting among key leaders in the area over who should serve in the cabinet.
