Residents in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria, are still in shock following an unexoected explosion which occurred in the State capital.
At least three persons where killed in the blast which occurred at a gas facility while others were reportedly injured.
It is not clear what caused the explosion, but eyewitnesses say the incident took place while gas users were refilling their bottles at the plant.
The impact of the explosion has thrown families of victims into mourning, with Nigerians calling for an investigation to unravel the root cause of the blast.
Others also want the authorities to ensure appropriate standards and restrict gas marketing operations to fuel pumping stations.
Among those killed are the chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission and a professor who was in the vicinity at the time of the blast to cut his hair.
