The Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, says this month’s sanitation exercise has been put on hold.
Accordingly, all residents as well as commuters whose movements are usually restricted within sanitation hours are free to go about their normal business.
Sole Administrator of RIWAMA, Felix Obuah said in a statement issued by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser responsible for Media and Publicity maatters within the agency that the cancellation of the exercise has been necessitated by a State function which would take place Saturday.
He however urged those living or doing business in the State to cultivate the habit of keeping their surroundings clean at all times.
Obuah equally admonished them to empty gutters and drainage systems within their neighbourhood in order to allow for free flow of water
