Nigerian policemen have taken over the protection of the National Secretariat of the APC in Abuja.
The move comes in the wake of growing tensions, following pressures being mounted within the APC to set aside the leadership of the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Oshiomhole whose tenure has been characterized by internal crisis is believed to have rushed to the Court of Appeal to stay the execution of an earlier order of court seeking to push him out of office.
Although details of the ruling granting Oshiomhole the much needed relief to hold unto power have not been made public,  supporters of the embattled chairman stress he has obtained an appropriate order which makes it impossible to proceed with the execution of an earlier pronouncement.
They say such an order makes it mandatory for Oshiomhole to remain in office as the National Chairman of the APC, pending the determination of the substantive suit.
In Edo, Anselm Ojezue, Chairman of a faction of the APC expressed confidence that the party would soon be in a unique position to achieve complete reconciliation among its members.
Recall that the Edo chapter of the APC had earlier suspended the APC National Chairman, accusing him of anti-party activities.
Edo State has been embroiled in conflict as a result of the dogfight that has been going on between supporters of the National Chairman and those loyal to the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.
Reports say a detachment of policemen were seen Wednesday evening keeping an eye on the APC National Secretariat located in the Central Area of the Federal Capital Territory to avert reactions by feuding party men that may endanger lives and property.
