The Rivers State Government  Tuesday commenced the payment of its workers, according to information reaching our news desk.
The Port Harcourt Telegraph which has been monitoring events has learnt through impeccable sources that the issue of the non payment of workers, which has been a burning issue in the State because of the situation in the country, is now over.
Accounts officials  responsible for the remittance of workers salaries to the various banks released wages on the orders of the State Governor..
Accordingly,  some of the workers received alerts on their phones  Tuesday while the rest are expectant as the information spreads.
Some workers who spoke with this publication confirmed the development, saying Government has met its obligation to them.
Recall that workers between Grade Levels 01 to 10 had been ordered by the State Government to stay at home as the fight against the spread of the coronavirus intensifies.
