As the political dog-fight across the nation intensifies and politicians find ways and means of bringing one another down, a clandestine plot designed to pitch the Igbos against the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi over Biafra has been hatched.
As a first step, a Twitter user, Elvis Chinedu @ElvisChunedu12, may have been recruited as part of a plot using the social media to smear Amaechi who enjoys the trust of the Igbo nation.
It is not clear who could be the sponsor of such a plan, but there may be certain persons who are unhappy with Amaechi’s rising profile nationwide.
The sponsorship of a splinter group in Amaechi’s home state, Rivers, which has resulted in endless litigations hasn’t worked.
Amaechi’s last remark in public was on why railway services won’t be available to Nigerians at this time.
Chinedu quoted Amaechi on Twitter as saying that rather than embark on the construction of rail lines in the South-East region, he would support the Almajiris of the north.
“I will never construct any railway in South East until the Igbos reject BIAFRA and embrace one NIGERIA,” Chinedu quoted the Minister as saying.
Allegedly quoting Amaechi, Chinedu wrote, “Instead of constructing any railway, I will use the money to help Alamajiri in the north.”
Meanwhile, the Minister who is widely respected among the Igbo speaking people has rebutted the remark.
He said in his reaction that the narrative by Chinedu on Twitter was completely fake.
