Wike leads PDP to war in Edo

Governor Nyesom Wike has vowed in the Edo State capital  that no one would be able to rig the election.
Wike who is at the head of PDP’s campaign team urged the people of Edo not to be afraid.
Although the Rivers Governor made no reference to the escalating tension in Edo State caused by threats of violence, he said Adams Oshiomhole,  outgone National Chairman of the APC was struggling hard to lap up his own vomit.
Oshiomhole had claimed while on the campaign trail that most of the things  he said about Ize Iyamu, the current gubernatorial flag bearer of the APC while he was in the PDP were not factual.
He said he had done so in order to give Governor Obaseki an edge over his opponent at the time.
But Wike who took centre stage said the days of godfatherism in Edo State  were over.
Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State aid it was obvious that the APC is behind moves to turn Edo into a war front.
He said the APC deployed tanks to his ward as part of a plot to intimidate the electorate and urged the Edo people to focus on the task ahead.
There were clashes between suspected thugs hired by both the APC and the PDP outside the Palace of the  Oba of Benin.
Governor Godwin Obaseki had gone to the palace of the Oba to seek his royal blessings in the company of other PDP stalwarts who converged at the ancient city.
Obaseki told supporters of the PDP  at the start of his campaign not to retaliate despite acts of provocation by the APC, saying, “God will retaliate for us.”
Uche Secondus,  National Chairman of the PDP said the Edo election would be a test case of the willingness of the Buhari administration to conduct free and fair elections.
