The Ministry of Defence has expressed complete satisfaction with the  determination of the Ministry of Transportation and its partners to ensure the effective implementation of the Deep Blue Project.

The Minister of Defence,  Maj Gen Magashi (retd) who is the Chairman of the Presidential  Committee on the #DeepBlueProject revealed  that the scheme would help contain piracy as well as other criminal pursuits which takes place on Nigeria’s waterways.

An equally  excited Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi took to Twitter to provide the nation with an update.

“Rounding off our maritime security assests inspection” , Amaechi hinted, the “Defence Minister/Chairman, Presidential Committee on the #DeepBlueProject, Maj Gen Magashi (retd) agrees that the project would enable us observe, detect & solve the problem of piracy & other criminal acts across our waters.”

He said that the “Nigerian Navy is working hard towards achieving this feat and will do even better with the new equipments alongside our other collaborators.”

The Transportation Minister earlier disclosed when the tour began that aircrafts needed for the effective takeoff of the scheme harsh dagged DeepBlueProject are being awaited.

He said that other components of  the security infrastructure required to protect maritime sector operations have landed.
