Asari Dokubo...draws the ire of the Nigerian military

Wike blames media for making Asari, others relevant

Governor Nyesom Wike has hit Alhaji Asari Dokubo, former ex-militant leader with a sledge hammer, describing him as someone who is searching for relevance.

Wike who lampooned Alhaji Asari Dokubo for his pro-Biafran comments on television criticized the media for providing publicity to persons like Asari who are seeking relevance and national attention.

It was the Governor’s harshest criticism of a freedom fighter and perhaps, evidence of the fact that the relationship between both men has degenerated to an abysmal low.

Wike who acknowledged that Asari had described the Ikwerre people as Igbos wondered what an Ijaw was doing declaring a new Biafran administrative structure.

Many here are waiting for the fireworks from Asari which may trail Wike’s comments.

The Telegraph has learnt through dependable sources that Asari, ex Niger Delta militant who was in town for the burial of late Chief O.B Lulu Briggs may be preparing a befitting response.

The last time Asari addressed Wike in public, he flayed the governor for wasting huge sums of money on the construction of the Garrison Roundabout  only to demolish same to erect an overhead bridge.
