A former president of Ijaw Youth council and ex militant, Mujahid Asari Dokubo has described the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu as an undesirable element who is milking the Igbo Nation.

Asari said in a video which has gone viral that Kanu whose associates are responsible for disturbances  in the South East is a criminal and not a patriot of the Biafran struggle.

According to Asari Dokubo,   the IPOB leader who is gradually becoming a force to be reckoned with in Igboland is running the Biafran campaign as a business.

The Ijaw leader who has shared some relationship with the Igbo freedom fighter claimed that Kanu has been diverting funds meant for the Biafran cause to his personal use.

Asari also alleged that Kanu has no source of income, insisting that the self acclaimed  Biafran czar has built a striving venture around the promotion of pro-Biafran agitation.

The forme Niger Delta militant who appeared in the past to support agitations in the East is not the first southern leader to accuse Kanu of deceit.

The leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike has cried out in the past against an alleged extortionist drive of the IPOB leader.

Uwaruoke who has a running battle with the IPOB leader has continually referred to Nnamdi Kanu as a fraud.

In the meantime, many Igbos see Nnamdi Kanu as  an activist who is fighting the marginalization of their area through the use of a militant platform known to the world as IPOB.

IPOB has been identified as a terrorist group by the Federal Government and accordingly  proscribed in Nigeria.

The effectiveness of the recent sit-at-home order in the East indicates that the IPOB leader has become one of the respected leaders in the region of the rising sun who control public opinion.

Nigeria’s fight against Kanu and IPOB suffered a little set back recently when Twitter used by the Biafran leader as an effective springboard for wagong a propaganda war against his country of birth pulled down a comment made by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This has led to retaliatory action against Twitter on the part of  the Nigerian Government which is accusing Twitter of evading tax payments and inciting instability in the country.
