THE people of Itshekiri kingdom now have a new king.

He is Ogiame Atwatse III, the Olu of Warri.

The new Olu aged 37 was crowned moments ago as the 21st King of the Itshekiri people, after fulfilling all of the rites leading to his ascendency as a Royal father.

The new king was born Tsola Emiko. He is widely traveled and successful in business.

But he would never again be addressed by that name through out his life time.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated him on his ascension as the 21st Olu of Warri, describing him as one the youngest monarchs to occupy the stool.

The President who spoke through Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy President of the Senate wished the Olu and his people well.

In his first address, Ogiame Atwatse thanked his people and handed over the kingdom to God.

He said it was time for Itshekiri youths and youths of the Niger Delta to redirect their energy in order to harness the resources that nature has blessed them with.
