Wike to join other leaders for PDP’s retreat

Governor Nyesom Wike may jet out this morning for Abuja to participate in the ongoing retreat organized by the PDP for its newly elected officials.

The Telegraph learnt through impeccable sources Tuesday night that the Rivers Governor would be among powerful  party leaders  from across the nation who are expected to converge in the Federal capital territory

Wike who was recently in Yola where he lauded Governor Fintiri of Adamawa State for his immeasurable contribution, has emerged as one of the most outstanding leaders of the PDP.

Today, as, PDP’s movers and shakers gather, most of the attention at thr venue would be intensely focused on the Governor whose fight for true fiscal federalism and the economic emancipation of states is forcing the Federal Government to further contemplate negotiating the issue of the Value Added Tax, VAT.

Although he is yet to declare any interest in the presidential ticket of his party, some segments of the PDP have started urging him to dip his chaplain in water.

A body of eminent party leaders in Cross River State known as the PDP Renaissance Group has already urged Wike to heed calls that are coming from Nigerians who are asking him to vie for the presidency.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is urging Nigerians at home and abroad to prepare for a rescue mission.

Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State acknowledged in Abuja Tuesday that the growing  insensitivity of the APC to the plight of ordinary Nigerians is wrecking havoc and causing untold hardship.

Tambuwal who was addressing participants drawn from all the states described the PDP as “a well – oiled delivery vehicle” that is ready to rescue Nigeria from its state of “permanent emergency”.
