Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers says PDP will sweep Borno State and the entire country in the forthcoming general elections.

Wike who paid a courtesy visit to Governor Babagana Zulum acknowledged the good works of his host, but said he was in the State to talk to PDP delegates and set the stage as well for the victory of the PDP in Borno..

Wike lauded Zulum for being warm and receptive, saying Zulum’s handshake across party lines is something worthy of emulation by other Nigerian leaders.

He said the disposition of Governor Zulum showed that there are still Nigerians who could be trusted to strengthen the foundation of national unity.

Describing political parties as vehicles for capturing power, the Rivers Governor said working for the unity and progress of the people remains a primary responsibility of members of the political class.

“You have done well” Wike told his host, “your place is clean.”

Responding, Governor Zulum thanked Wike for coming and wished him well while in his State.

He disclosed that he and Wike were close and revealed that during the stormy days of Gboko Haram, Wike was among few Nigerians who called him on phone to show concern.

Zulum however told his visitor, “there is no vacancy” in reaction to his remark that the PDP would take power in 2023.
