… But Akawor tells Atiku Rivers people are angry over zoning

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar says bringing the nation together will be his major priority if voted into power as president.
Addressing delegates and other stakeholders at the PDP Secretariat in Port Harcourt Atiku said the APC has run a one-sided government.
He said it was as a result of the imbalances in the system as well as the and skewed policies put in place by the Buhari administration that the nation has been sharply divided.

He assured Nigerians that the PDP would work on the unification of the country and tackle instability and insecurity.
Atiku warned that the former ruling party cannot afford to be in opposition for another 8 years.
He paid glowing tribute to Governor Wike, describing him as the best in the country in terms of the provision of basic infrastructure.
The presidential aspirant spoke of his long term association with the State and said because of his working understanding of the state, he would not let the people down.
Governor Nyesom Wike…may upstage Atiku, others.
He thanked Governor Wike for creating the right atmosphere for members of his delegation and himself to meet with Rivers delegates.
Also speaking, the State Chairman of the party, Ambassador Desmond Akawor acknowledged the contributions of Atiku to the development of the state and national economy, especially during the OBJ era.
He said that Rivers people have a strong leadership and explained that the people vote as an indivisible bloc.
Akawor expressed dissatisfaction over the refusal of the party leadership to respect the use of zoning, saying zoning has become part of the PDP’s DNA.
Earlier, the State Party Secretary, Dr Benibo George had welcomed the visitor to the party Secretariat.
Akawor… Rivers people are not happy.
He said leaders of the party were happy to receive the presidential aspirant in their midst and thanked him for coming to meet with the delegates.
