The former Ambassador to South Korea who received a delegation of the Port Harcourt Press led by Chief Ogbonna Nwuke said there was no doubt whatsoever that a great majority of Rivers people are active supporters of the party.

He revealed that apart from buying forms for the contestants who indicated interest, the governor engaged them personally before elders of the party arrived at a decision.

The PDP chairman said the need to give the Rivers South East Senatorial District the opportunity to produce a governor, coupled with the desire of the party to ensure that power goes to the Riverine parts of Rivers State led to the decision.

The PDP chairman expressed delight  said he was happy with the visit of the newspaper proprietors to the State Secretariat of the PDP .

He assured that the party is willing to partner with the press and said there will be no barriers in the relationship between the party and journalists who are searching for credible information.
