Showcase of giant strides in education: 3 new RSU campuses ready for commissioning
Three new campuses of the Rivers State University built by the Wike administration are to be commissioned.
This is part of ongoing efforts by Governor Nyesom Wike to decentralize the State’s Pioneer university, provide quality education and healthy environment for learning.

The campuses which are ready for commissioning are located at Abara in the Etche Local Government Area, Rumuche in the Emohua Local Government Area and Ahoada in the Ahoada East Local Government Area.
Also today, the State Government under the watch of Governor Wike will flag-off the construction of residential quarters for lecturers of the Faculty of Agriculture who will be teaching at the Rivers State University Campus, Abara.
On Thursday, the commissioning of the Rumuche campus will take place while Governor Nyesom Wike will cap up the activities for this week with the commissioning of the campus built at Ahoada on Friday.
The Port Harcourt Telegraph reports that the establishment of the new campuses in parts of the State is further designed to bring tertiary education to the doorstep of the people, stimulate growth in the rural areas and lead to the advent of university towns in future.
The newspaper also notes that the Catholics are building an university at Abara which is expected to join in efforts to provide quality education in the State and Nigeria as a whole.
Reports reaching our news desk say Etche people people, happy at the development, are preparing a rousing welcome for Governor Wike and members of his entourage.
