Tinubu, hale and hearty – Festus Keyamo

Festus Keyamo, Presidential Spokesman of the APC fielding questions on Arise News

Presidential spokesman of the APC,  Festus Keyamo, SAN, says Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is hale and hearty.

His reaction came in the wake of question put forward by El Rufai on the morning show inquiring about Tinubu’s whereabouts.

Recall that Tinubu who has released videos of himself had earlier dismissed news about his alleged death from an undisclosed location abroad.

The spokesman admitted that many Nigerians who are asking about Tinubu’s whereabouts were doing so out of genuine concern while others were trying to do mischief.

But he said on Arise News Thursday morning that speculations relating to the health of the APC presidential flagbearer  are unfounded.

Keyamo revealed that he has firsthand information that Asiwaju Tinubu is in good shape.

Reminded that INEC has lifted the ban on public campaigns, Keyamo said the APC did not promise to kick-start its drive across the on September 28th.

According to Keyamo, the APC also did not commence its campaign as soon as the ban was lifted four years ago.

Keyamo revealed that Tinubu who was abroad had distributed copies of his manifesto to party leaders for their inputs.

He said the candidate was waiting for feedbacks from those currently reviewing his manifesto before officially launching out.

El Rufai, Keyamo, eyeball to eyeball on the Morning Show broadcast Thursday.

The Presidential Spokesman disclosed that the APC would anchor its presidential campaign on three major factors.

These are achievements attained in the last seven years of APC rule, the transformation of Lagos under Tinubu’s leadership and the manifesto of the presidential candidate.

Keyamo remarked that despite growing fears over the status of APC candidates nationwide, those elected to fly the party’s flags are not threatened by legal obstacles arising from the interpretation of Section 183 ruling of the Nigerian Constitution.

Asked if he had backtracked from a legal position that he earlier canvassed, Keyamo said no.

He however maintained that APC candidates in the forthcoming elections are safe against the backdrop of legal developments that have taken place.
