Breaking news: PDP sets up Campaign Council
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State is dead.
Chairman of the PDP Campaign Council, Governor Nyesom Wike made the declaration while inaugurating the council in Port Harcourt.
He noted that politics is about interest and said Rivers people would shun those who ignore their interests and support those who want their help.
Apparently referring to events that are playing out within the PDP at the national level, Wike said, “We will campaign for those who want us to campaign for them.”

He urged members of the campaign Council to take the message of the party and its candidates in the State to the grassroots.
Governor Wike reiterated that his administration has touched every local government area in terms of the provision of infrastructure.
According to the Governor the recent award of excellence by the Federal Government has demonstrated that his administration has done exceedingly well.
The Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State has been inaugurated.

Earlier, the Chsirman of the Party, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, harped on the achievements of the government, saying it had excelled in every department.
He said members of the party who gathered at the campaign office for the inauguration of the process that will lead to the emergence of the gubernatorial flagbearer, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, his running mate, Professor Ngozi Odu and other candidates were party of history in the making.
Declaring. “No sim card; no network”, the Chairman expressed confidence in the ability of the members of the campaign Council to deliver on their assignment.
He said that members of the team may be many, but they have “one mind” and the determination to deliver “the philosophy of the NEW vision.”

Also speaking, Chief Ferdinand Alabraba, leader of the Elders Council and alternate chairman of the campaign organization assured that the efforts of the team would be crowned by success.
