I didn’t  want to mention names, Tinubu declares, but I can’t help it

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and his deputy on Friday got a mention not for the good works they did, but for the ridicule they brought to the presidency.

Both men fell out in the open while Atiku was Vice President, with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State accusing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of humiliating his boss

Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  former Governor of Lagos State and presidential flagbearer of the APC who recalled the quarell a day ago, assured Nigerians that he will not fight in the open with his vice.

Talking directly to Nigerian youths on Friday in Abuja, Tinubu who is running on hope and the audacity of what has been  accomplished in Lagos is promising a prosperous, dynamic and resourceful era.

Tinubu goes into the offensive against Atiku.

He said he would set up an economy that would engage youths gainfully and turn around those in their midst who are using their knowledge of computer technology to do things that are uncharitable.

Tinubu vowed that Shetima and himself will not under any circumstance quarell in the marketplace like former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his vice, Atiku Abubakar.

“I didn’t want to mention their names”, Tinubu remarked, almost innocently, “but I can’t help it.”

Obasanjo and Peter Odili may be poles apart despite been close many years ago

He acknowledged the contribution of Nigerian youths to nation building, saying that the country hasn’t been fair to the youth.

Under his watch, Tinubu declared, government would create a sustainable and enduring economy that will be pro-people

Somehow, those who allude that Tinubu is down and out may have to do a re-think.

The image of a sick and tired Tinubu being peddled in political circles is not what Nigerians are seeing as the race hots up.

The Tinubu that Nigerians know on the campaign  trail is back. His performance in Edo and in Abuja among youths show he is ready to go the whole hog.

Professor Jidefor Adibe of the Nasarawa State University said on Arise News on Saturday evening that Tinubu is apparently doing better on the campaign trail now than most people thought he would.
