GOD WON’T LET YOU WIN -WIKE

“All of them planning…saying they will deal with us”, Governor Nyesom Wike noted in Gokana, “they’ve not been born.” Wike was speaking at a PDP rally which  held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the GokanaLocal Government Area.

Incidentally, Gokana is the Local Government of Senator Magnus Abe, guber candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP

“I dare them”, Wike declared before thousands of party supporters who were chanting and dancing, “let them try it.”

The Rivers governor described as empty, threat by some politicians in the country to deal with him when they eventually win the 2023 presidential election.

Although Wike did not refer to any particular politician by name, many in the crowd seemed to think that the reference may have been  to some national leaders of the PDP,  including the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Governor Wike said he was being targeted because of his insistence on equity, fairness and justice within the party.

He observed that such leaders were pained by the demand which they consider “too tough a demand to satisfy.”

Speaking at the playground of Community Secondary School 1 in Mogho Town, venue of the rally organized by the Rivers State PDP Campaign Council, Governor Wike stated that such threats were laughable.

Governor Nyesom Wike addressing the rally which held in Gokana Local Government.

“Most of you have watched on YouTube where they said they will deal with me when they win.

“You can’t win. You’ve not won, you are threatening to deal with some people. Will God allow you”, the Governor asked.

Governor Wike declared that he is a strong proponent of the principal of equity, fairness and justice.

He also stressed that respecting these universal principles which guarantee freedom was the best way to foster inclusivity in PDP.

Wike noted that it is evil to deny other equal stakeholders rights that are due them which ought to give them a sense of belonging within the party.

He told the Gokana people to be proud of their nativity and the fact that they are citizens of Rivers State.

According to him, no person can ever intimidate the State because it will never play second fiddle in Nigeria.

The governor also advised Gokana people to go get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) which will be used to punish haters of Rivers State.

He said the power of the people in determining their future in Nigeria will be anchored on their use of permanent voters cards, PVCs.

The Governor said there will be a great difference between what transpired in 2019 and what will take place in 2023.

As he put it, officers of the Nigerian Army and police would not be used to intimidate voters.

Such a scenario,  the governor remarked, gives the people the opportunity to turn out enmasse so they could use their PVCs to decide who should lead them at all levels.

Governor Wike explained that a brother and a friend is one who caters to the welfare of the people and improves their living conditions.

Against this backdrop, Governor Wike stressed that he is a better brother to Gokana people than their son, Victor Giadom, who as Commissioner for Works, refused to construct roads in Gokana.

Governor Wike revealed that several roads have been constructed under his watch in Gokana.

He hinted that work on a bridge connecting K-Dere to Bolo Town is currently under construction.

PDP gubernatorial candidate, Siminalayi Fubara speaking at the rally.

Also speaking, the Rivers State governorship candidate of the PDP, Sir Siminialayi Fubara expressed confidence that the party will win the election in the State.

Fubara assured that when elected, his administration will follow the footsteps of the Wike’s administration.

Specifically, Fubara said he will do everything possible to sustain the security of life and property, and provide more roads and educational infrastructure in Gokana.

Former secretary to the Rivers State government, Kenneth Kobani said Gokana people will never abandon Governor Wike and the PDP.

Kobani vowed that PDP members in the area were ready to take up any electoral fight against all those whose stock-in-trade is to abuse the governor instead of engaging in issue based politics.
