Peter Obi storms Gombe, restates plan to create wealth
By PHC Telegraph

Peter Obi, frontrunner of the Labour Party in Nigeria was in Gombe Wednesday in continuation of his bid to rally Nigerians behind a plan that would get them working again. Obi, from all indications, is not giving up on his desire to create wealth, a theme which continues to resonate among many Nigerians, especially youths who are largely unemployed.
The founder of the ‘Obi-dient movement’ who was reportedly attacked in the North West told a crowd of Labour Party supporters in Gombe that Nigeria deserves to operate a productive economy.
He said it was time to do away with policies which encourage economic dependency and helps in retarding growth.
Obi promised that if he gets the nod to be president, Nigeria would say goodbye to a consumption-oriented economy.
The candidate of the Labour Party reiterated at the Gombe rally that he is determined to create jobs which would engage able-bodied persons, particularly youths.
He disclosed that he was on a mission to unify the country, and urged voters to back his aspiration to provide constructive leadership.
Obi pledged that if he receives the nod on February 25th, his administration would tackle insecurity, corruption, ethnic and religious differences.
Nobody had given Obi a chance when the presidential race opened. Even now, not many Nigerians think he has the capacity to win the presidential election.
But, there are growing indications Obi may hurt the PDP in the South East when the time comes. Traditionally, the East has voted largely for the PDP.
There are strong signs Obi may clean out vital votes in the East, thus leaving key contestants on the platform of other political parties gasping for air in that geopolitical region.
With the countdown continuing, Obi remains a serious factor on the social media where Obi-dients seem to have a field day.
Somehow, the bulk of the votes that are likely to influence the outcome of the general elections may not be found on the Internet or the diaspora.
They are found, in large numbers. In the field where Obi and other politicians are fighting for advantage.
