Wike flags off new phase of Ahoada-Omoku Road Project

Governor Nyesom Wike has flagged off the second phase of the Ahoada-Omoku Road dualization project which links two local government areas. The two LGAs are Ahoada East and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni.
Wike who performed the flag off ceremony said the 32 kilometre road is the longest dualization project handled by his administration.
Governor Wike said that on Monday he was at Emohua to flag off the Emohua -Tema Road dualization project.
Wike said Government has fulfilled another promise made and vowed Rivers money would be used to provide quality facilities for Rivers people.
He put the cost of the Emohua-Kalabari Road and the Ahoada-Omoku Road at approximately N70 billion.
The Governor disclosed that the construction which is being handled by Julius Berger would be completed in 18 months.
The Port Harcourt Telegraph reports that there were cultural displays and speeches by leaders from the area, expressing gratitude to the Governor for the numerous projects that he has executed.
It says that under the first phase, the government delivered about six kilometres of dualized road.
Under the new phase of construction that is expected to terminate at Omoku, Julius Berger would be building more than 25 kilometres of dualized road, complete with street lights and drains.
