Developing Story: More Rivers leaders React To Fubara’s Tribunal Victory

More prominent Rivers leaders are continuing to react to the tribunal victory of the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
The reactions are coming even as Tonye Cole, gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress shows signs he may still challenge the judgment of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
Former State Chairman of the PDP, Felix Obuah who led the campaign as Director General said he was elated by the decision of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
Describing the verdict of the tribunal as another vote of confidence on the Rivers PDP, Obuah noted that the judgment had put an end to the political jamboree embarked on by opposition candidates.
He congratulated Governor Fubara on his victory snd thanked the Rivers people for their massive support.
He also predicted more electoral victories by the PDP in the future, saying his optimism is premised on the quality of governance as well as the conscious provision of people oriented projects by the party.
He also acknowledged the leadership already put in place by the immediate past state governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, now the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja which observed has helped to transform the Rivers State.

“I therefore enjoin you all”, Obuah said to Rivers people, “not to relent in your support” for the incumbent Governor and urged them to “shun any tactics by political opponents and detractors” to deceive them.
Also speaking on the tribunal decision, the member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, said the verdict was a revalidation of the mandate given to Governor Siminalayi Fubara on March 18 by the Rivers people.
Dekor who is the House Committee Chairman on Host Communities stated that he never had any doubts that the PDP would overcome the unnecessary conspiracy crafted by opposition politicians against Fubara’s victory.
The lawmaker attributed the progress recorded by the PDP to leadership and excellent governance bequeathed in the last eight years by the administration of former Governor Wike.
While congratulating Fubara on his resounding victory, Dekor enjoined the opposition parties in the state to join hands with Gov. Fubara to move the state forward.

Recall that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike who was in the court on the day of the ruling had expressed happiness over the victory of his successor.
He added that the judgment entered by the judges was detailed and straight to the point.
The leadership of the State PDP had earlier congratulated Governor Sim Fubara on the ruling of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
Ambassador Desmond Akawor who hailed the victory thanked the Rivers people for the staunch support that they continue to give to the PDP.
Similarly, different groups, among them publishers of the Port Harcourt Press, have equally visited Government House to congratulate the governor.
