Fubara Plots Diversification of Rivers Economy
… Says agric development would be top on the agenda

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has pledged to diversify the economy of Rivers State and put the develop-mument of the State’s agricul-tural potential on the front burner.

Fubara who at the weekend visited the Songhai Farm in Bunu community which is in the Tai Local Government Area said government would intensify efforts to boost agriculture.

He expressed confidence in the ability of his administration to create employment opportunities and an enabling environment that would lead to the attainment of a high level of food sufficiency through agriculture.

The Governor later took to his official X handle said his visit was part of bid to reform agriculture.

“As part of our efforts to reform agriculture in the State, I visited the Songhai Farm in Bunu community, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.

“My visit was geared towards the diversification of our economy for food security and the creation of employment opportunities.”

Fubara had promised while campaigning to serve Rivers people as their governor that he would place emphasis on agriculture.

At the weekend, Fubara took a tentative step towards fulfilling his promise to Rivers people.
