By PHC Telegraph

President Bola Tinubu has approved a request put forward by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike asking for permission to put an end to the payment of fund generated internally in Abuja into the treasury single account, TSA.
The idea is to remove impediments posed to the ongoing development process in Abuja by restrictions arising from directives which insist revenue generated by federal agencies and parastatals must be paid into the single treasury account.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Wike disclosed the decision by the President to exclude the FCTA from the TSA at a news conference on Friday.
Wike told reporters that the move is intended to enable the Federal Capital Territory Authority to utilise its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) on projects development.
The FCT Minister disclosed that the President approved the proposal after the matter was placed before before him.
The minister further revealed that President Tinubu has approved the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission.
Similarly, a Women Affairs Secretariat for the FCT to be led by a Mandate Secretary has been created in order to bridge the gender gap.
Wike stressed that the establishment of the FCT Service Commission will assuage the worries of FCT civil servants.
He expressed optimism that issues about the career progression of civil servants working in the FCTA would be addressed.

Wike noted that following the decision of the President to approve the establishment of the FCT commission, workers in the FCTA could now aspire to rise to the position of a Permanent Secretary.
Under the present dispensation, the FCTA has stepped up the provision of basic infrastructure designed to enhance the aesthetic transformation of the Federal Capital.
Foreign countries through their envoys have equally shown interest in partnering with the FCTA in scaling up investments in Abuja.
