PDP Internal Crisis: Ononuju Backs Gov Fubara, Blames VP Atiku For All The Fight
By PHC Telegraph

Leader of the Heritage Centre and staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Katch Ononuju has come out strongly in support of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.
Ononuju who appeared on an interview programme broadcast by Arise News said Fubara is well loved by many Nigerians who are impressed with his conduct of affairs in his home state and across the country.
The speed with which President Bola Tinubu congratulated Senator John Azuta Mbata soon as he emerged President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo clearly shows that there are people who are happy with Fubara, Ononuju insisted.
The PDP stalwart blamed the Presidential candidate of the party for the political instability which is rocking the party.
He explained that many in the PDP are aggrieved by the attitude of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President, towards power sharing, saying his determination to contest the presidency when it was obviously the turn of the South stirred the unrest in the party.
According to him, most in the party would prefer that President Bola Tinubu rules for ever rather than allowing Atiku to treat the issue of zoning with levity.
Turning attention to the Rivers crisis, he said the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike must respect the right of Governor Fubara to lead the PDP in his State.
Arguing that no minister has ever defeated a governor in a fight for the leadership of a State in Nigeria’s history, Ononuju stressed that regardless of claims that Fubara is no longer a member of the PDP, the governor is a full-fledged leader in the party.
He observed that Wike had governed Rivers State with six lawmakers in his time and wondered why he is busy raising so much dust now that Fubara is faced with a similar situation.
