Breaking: This Is Not Politics, We Are Supporting Nigeria – Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has reiterated his commitment to the protection of the Niger Delta region and defence of Nigeria’s critical assets.
The Governor said while handing over a helicopter belonging to the Government of Rivers State to the Airforce that his gesture was not influenced by politics.
“This is not politics, Fubara intoned while speaking at the airbase in Port Harcourt, “We are supporting Nigeria.”
He said that what he was doing by handing over the chopper in the open and not in secret was to express his administration’s support for the Federal Government’s to ensure public security and stability within the Niger Delta region.
Fubara revealed that he is a member of a committee that is charged with the task of protecting federal government assets and said that the donation of the vessel to the Air Force is consistent with his determination to ensure that oil sector assets are secured in the national interest.
He appealed to the Nigerian Air Force to use the aircraft mainly within the State and the Niger Delta region:
The Governor said it was scandalous that despite donations made by the present and previous governments to strengthen the efforts of security agencies to protect critical assets as well as waterways, those vessels are not available for use in times of emergency.
