The Palace that Wike’s supporters say is a two-bedroom apartment
People born in Akpor kingdom in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have expressed gratitude to Governor Siminalayi Fubara over the projects he is executing, including the erection of a befitting palace for their king.
Some of them told a Port Harcourt Telegraph Correspondent who spoke to people on the street Monday that despite spending eight years in Government House, their own son, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike did nothing to uplift Akpor Kingdom.
A young man who gave his first name as Chikordi dismissed what he described as “baseless claims” that tGovernor Fubara built a two-bedroom apartment for their king.
“What did he (Wike) do for Akpor? What did he do for our Eze? Our own son used to refer to us as “ele Akpor Ohia.”
“He did nothing for our people. Look at what a man who is not from Obio/Akpor is doing for us. We are happy with Sim.”
Nkasi, a young lady was estatic, “This is the first time Akpor people are feeling the impact of government. Fubara is doing well. He has done what our own son could not do. I know they are fighting Fubara because of what he is doing for our people.”
Nnenda was even more direct,”Wike hates Akpor people. In eight years, he refused to uplift Akpor Kingdom. Now someone who feels our pain, who understands our needs has come. Fubara thank you. God will bless you.
“They fight him. The gods of the land will fight for him. Projects are going on in our place. Wike punished us. We leave his punishment to God.”
Ovunda rapped it up, “Help comes from quarters that you least expect. Rivers people are lucky to have Governor Fubara. He knows what ordinary people feel. See what Fubara has done in Akpor in two years. Our own son told our people that nothing good will happen here.
“He is not God. God has used Fubara to put smiles on our faces. Wike left us without roads, without facilities but Fubara, a God fearing man is wiping away our years of neglect.
“What did we do to him? Wike said we don’t have people; said we would never have anything; God is using Fubara to prove that man is not God. Thank Fubara for us. He is the saviour of the Akpor people.”
