Ex Governor Nyesom Wike, who is rumoured to be suffering from an unknown ailment, has described the PDP Governors Forum as a pressure group attempting to exert influence on the way things should be done within party circles.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory said while having a live media chat on Friday morning that the forum of governors has no right whatsoever to determine through executive fiat who should serve as the National Secretary of the PDP.

Recall that PDP Governors had agreed in Ibadan to throw their weight behind the Assistant Secretary of the party pending the emergence of a substantive National Secretary from the South East.

The Minister who is still parading in public as a member of the PDP said there was nothing wrong for Governors of the party to nurse the idea of supporting the emergence of a national secretary.

But he said that given a situation where an incumbent National Secretary is in office, it would be wrong to hijack his position in the party or ignore him.

He reminded feuding PDP leaders of the fact that only the National Chairman and the National Secretary are known to INEC, warning that unless party leaders come together to harmonise issues, whatever arrangement that is being put in place will not work.

Wike admitted that disagreements between major players in the party over power sharing caused the rift in the PDP, but he regretted that the party has been unable to overcome huge differences which have torn it apart because of poor leadership.

He dismissed people masquerading as real PDP leaders such as former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Governor Bala Mohammed, saying they lacked the charisma to put the party together.

He stated that PDP is yet to get someone who could be trusted at anytime to be a rallying point of the party.

Wike acknowledged that he is very unhappy over the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State by the President, emphasizing that if Fubara had been impeached, nothing could have happened.

The Minister lashed out at the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, accusing it of taking money from Governor Fubara in exchange for its support.

He said he supported the efforts of the Rivers State Administrator to compel the NBA to return the money.

However, the position of the NBA that it cannot as an institution give credence to the existence of an illegal contraption by hosting the NBA conference in Rivers State.

Wike who is believed to be a lawyer and part of a group of Benchers accused the NBA which has taken a principled of acting under the influence of the money it got from Rivers State under a democratic atmosphere.

Some who watched the chat telecast this morning say that from Wike’s posture and body language, it is evident that what Nigerians are seeing in Rivers State is the hands of Esau and the voice of Jacob.
