Our People Have Always Wanted A State Of Their Own – Mitee
By PHC Telegraph

Barrister Ledum Mitee, one-time leader of MOSOP, says Ogoni people have always wanted to have a state of their own.
Mitee who was speaking on the Morning Show on AriseNews said outside the struggle for the control of their mineral resources, Ogoni people nurse aspirations to be part of the political mainstream.
He said that Ogoni Bill of Rights has clearly expressed the minimum expectations of the Ogoni people which include their right to benefit directly from the exploitation of natural resources found in their midst.
On the remedial steps being taken to rehabilitate the Ogoni environment, Mitee said he is not as knowledgeable about what is going on in Ogoniland pertaining to the remediation effort.
But he admitted that genuine progress is steadily being made under the Tinubu government to ensure that peace which would pave the way for the restoration of oil production operations in Ogoniland is achieved.
