Tinubu Won’t Sign Amendment To Electoral Act – Tietie
By PHC Telegraph

Frank Tietie, a lawyer, says it looks very unlikely that Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu would append his signature on any amendment to the nation’s Electoral Act.
Tietie who appeared on today’s Morning Show on AriseNews said he has serious doubts that Tinubu would allow changes to the Electoral Act before next year’s election.
According to him, it may be difficult for the incumbent President to endorse any amendment which could spell doom for his reelection bid in 2027.
He acknowledged that in Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan remains the only one to date who as president in an election season signed an amendment of the Electoral Act.
He recalled that President Mohammadu Buhari had refused under his watch to endorse amendments made to the Actm
Tietie hoped that who ever the President appoints eventually as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, would be able to organize free and fair elections.
He admitted that a woman has never been appointed as an the country’s INEC chairman.
