World Cup: Pinnick  Confident Nigeria Could Still Qualify

By PHC Telegraph

Amaju Pinnick, newly appointed member of a body that is responsible for managing of men’s football in FIFA says everything humanly possible is being done to qualify Nigeria for the World Cup.

Speaking on the Morning Show on AriseNews, Pinnick said all hopes are not yet lost.

He said that Nigeria could make it, but noted that the Super Eagles must give their best the same way that they do while playing for their clubs.

He said winning against Lesotho and Rwanda could prove to be a game changer.

The football administrator said that although he knew something was coming from FIFA he did not believe it was going to be this big.

He thanked  all who have congratulated him on his appointment and pledged to speak up strongly for the African world while serving in FIFA.

Nigeria will be playing away against Lesotho on Friday and later against Rwanda in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capitol next week.

Pinnick urged Nigerians not to despair. He said they should come behind the team in terms of support, recalling that any time Nigeria has its back to the wall, it has always produced startling performances.

Nigeria is in third place with 11 points in Group C and there are expectations that the Eagles would snatch the six points at stake.

South Africa and Benin Republic are in first and second positions respectively and most Nigerians are hoping that these teams would meet with some misfortune in order to pave way for their country that is obviously struggling to qualify for the World Cup.
