RECOF ENDORSES FUBARA’S ENTRY INTO APC

Declares support for President Tinubu’s re-election

The Rivers Elders Consultative Forum (RECOF) has completely identified with the decision of Governor Siminalayi Fubara to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) and align with the “Renewed Hope” mantra of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Hailing the move, RECOF comprised of respected statesmen, traditional leaders and opinion moulders said Fubara’s bold step was “long-awaited and overdue”.

The Chairman, Hon. Ikay Thomas Amadi who spoke on behalf of the membership of the group  declared their unwavering support for the Governor’s strategic political decision.

This alignment, RECOF stressed, is not merely a partisan shift but a forward-looking step aimed at fostering deeper integration with the Federal Government for the accelerated development of Rivers State.

Amadi affirmed that Governor Fubara through his exemplary performance in office despite distraction has secured the goodwill and support of Rivers people.

“This tangible performance,” Hon. Ikay Thomas Amadi stated, “positions him as a leader with the credibility and influence to guide the people positively through this new political chapter.”

RECOF praised what it termed the Governor’s “outstanding and dignified disposition for peace,” especially in the face of recent political challenges that culminated in a state of emergency.

The Forum also thanked the President for his intervention and protection in ensuring that the Governor was not impeached as a result of political vendetta.

“We commend His Excellency’s steadfast commitment to peace, stability, and the rule of law. We urge him to continue to pilot the affairs of our dear state with the same spirit of tranquillity and progressive dedication that has marked his tenure thus far,” the RECOF Convener said.

Turning attention to the people of Rivers State, the Elders expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming support shown to Governor Siminalayi Fubara since he assumed office.

They urged citizens to sustain and even intensify their support, citing the Governor’s demonstrable transparency, accountability, and impactful governance.

“Under Governor Fubara’s watch, Rivers State is experiencing unprecedented development across every stratum of the public sector—from infrastructure and education to healthcare and human capital development.

“It is therefore only fitting that the people continue to repose their trust and confidence in his leadership,” the Forum asserted.”
