First Executive Council Meeting holds in Rivers
● Governor Siminalayi Fubara presides;
● Urges Commissioners to fall in line;
● Espouses his plan for Rivers people

The State Executive Council met for the first time on Tuesday to set the agenda for the progress, growth and development of Rivers State.
A total of 14 commissioners so far appointed to serve as members of the council attended the inaugural meeting. The Governor, Siminalayi Fubara who was present presided.
Also present at the first meeting that took place at the State Executive Council Chamber of Government House, Port Harcourt were the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, the Secretary to Government, Tammy Wenike Danagogo, the Chief of Staff, Chidi Amadi and George Nwaeke, Head of Service.
Although a press statement issued by the SSA Media to the Governor did not give out much, it said Fubara seized the opportunity to lay his cards on the table.

It also disclosed that the Governor stressed the “need for each member of the council to align with the overall vision of building a prosperous Rivers State anchored on the continuity and consolidation agenda.”
The Executive Council strives, based on existing precedence, to meet every week to discuss issues of state and the way forward.
The Governor, insiders in the administration reveal, is bent on attracting direct foreign investments and speedily laying the foundation for the eventual development of industry.
He is also believed to be interested in building a robust human capital base that will provide the State with future manpower required to consolidate the gains of the new Rivers vision
