Adams Oshiomhole, current National Chairman of the APC and immediate past Governor of Edo State has urged reconciliation within members of the ruling party.
He said his call has been necessitated by a strong desire to ensure that there is peace and stability within the APC.
Oshiomhole who appeared on Hard Copy, a Channels Television programme, denied that relations between Governor Godwin Obasseki and himself has turned frosty.
He however admitted there may be differences between persons close to him and the governor.
But the APC National Chairman said he has always advised the Edo State Chief Executive to carry everyone along.
He expressed satisfaction that a five-star hospital built by his administration in Benin city is to be opened to public use.
The former labour leader claimed in answer to another question that there was no way he could celebrate the failure of his successor, saying he had invested in his emergence as a state governor.
Oshiomhole dismissed those who have continued to criticize the president for undergoing medical checks abroad.
The Edo-born politician described such persons as characters who are being unduly hypocritical.
The APC chair said his posture on the issue did not detract from his firm belief that there is a need for improvement in the quality of healthcare services in the country.
He spoke in favour of more investments in the educational and health sectors, insisting education would remain central to the creation of awareness among citizens.
The APC Chairman said there were increasing calls for solidarity among nations.
Describing solidarity as a term that is relatively indigenous to workers and the struggle by labour, he said the resolve of the APC to devote the nation’s human and natural resources to the wellbeing and development of the Nigerian people was one of the reasons which influenced him to join the party.
Oshiomhole appealed for unity of purpose among party members, warning that its absence could spell doom and undermine progress within the party.
