Developing story: Ibom Air acquires 2 state-of-art-aircrafts

Ibom Air, the official flagship of Akwa Ibom State has received additional aircrafts to boost its fleet

The two airbus planes, A220 – 300 series, the latest anywhere in the world flew in, within seven minutes of one another, to the admiration of guests who were on hand in Uyo for the commissioning ceremony.

This brings the total number of aircrafts in the fleet of Ibom Air to seven.

Governor Udom Emmanuel congratulated the management of Ibom Air and announced that the fleet would be expanded to 15 by next year.

He assured that a business plan which would sustain Akwa Ibom’s ambition to emerge as an economic and industrial powerhouse will be put in place before he leaves office.

Governors Umaru Fitri commended the vision of his Akwa Ibom counterpart while Governor Aminu Tambuwal who commissioned the aircrafts acknowledged the performance of PDP Governors.

Speaking during the occasion, the Managing Director of Ibom Air, Mfon Udom said the airline is poised to dominate regional flights in Africa.

Recall that the airline came on stream two years ago.
