The All Progressives Congress in Cross River State has reacted to the outcome of the successful rally organized by the PDP.
Its Chairman, Alphonsus Eba Esq. said on Tuesday that the APC and the people of Cross River State would no longer tolerate what he described as acts of intimidation from Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
He warned that the peace-loving disposition of the people of the State is not something anyone should take for granted.

Recall that an attempt to halt the rally of the PDP last Saturday, had been rebuffed, following the intervention of the Rivers Governor.
Wike had said on that occasion that whatever the Cross River State Government could do, the PDP would do better.
Apparently unsettled by the weight of the PDP and the support its members received from chieftains of the party in the country, including Governor Wike, Eba noted that what transpired last Saturday was an affront on the people of Cross River.
Alerting the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, the APC claimed Governor Wike has become a huge security threat and risk to Cross River State.
He said the people of the State will no longer accept such acts of intimidation by a State Governor.
” We shall no longer tolerate any attempt of further intimidation by whomever and by whatever name, the people of Cross River shall resist his coming to the state because he is a security threat, risk to the peace of the state.
“We are open to play decent politics as well as allow the opposition PDP to play their game but we shall not allow further intimidation.
During the Flag off of Campaigns for Ogoja Yala Federal Constituency and Akpabuyo State constituency, the Rivers Governor who reportedly inspired the PDP to go ahead, berated the APC for trying to stop the legitimate right of the PDP to hold a public rally.

Wike who was in the State to address the rally had objected publicly to moves by Governor Ben Ayade to intimidate law abiding members of the PDP.
Wondering what would happen the governorship race opens, he said that the action of the Ayade Government and the APC to frustrate a rally of the PDP was completely unacceptable.
Many across the country are still puzzled over the plot by the APC to abort a peaceful rally of the State’s opposition.
However, Eba while addressing the press declared the River State Governor, a security threat to the state over his utterance during the rally at the Calabar Sports Club.
“I’m using this opportunity to put the world on notice, I am appealing to the IGP, COAS and DSS that Gov Wike of Rivers is a security risk and threat to the peace of Cross River
“We do not want confrontation with any state governor, we are a peace-loving state but that should not be taken for granted, I want to say enough is enough”, he added.
Our sources say the success of the flag off rally by the PDP and the role Wike played to ensure its success in the face of what looked like an attempt to stop it, has been generating sharp reactions in and outside Calabar, the Cross River capital.
