Nigeria: World’s largest urea plant goes into operation Tuesday

President Buhari set to commission an urea fertilizer facility built by Dangote.

President Muhammadu Buhari will Tuesday in Lagos commission an urea fertilizer plant reputed to be the largest in the world.

Built by the Dangote Group, owned by Africa’s richest man, the project is expected to boost the nation’s food production and raise its revenue earnings.

The project which gulped $2.5bn to build would locally supply 120 trucks of fertilizers on a daily basis.

Experts project that the facility would rake in about $400m from exports while operating at full capacity.
