The PDP says the increasing wave of air disasters involving military aircrafts in times of growing national insecurity and instability are completely unacceptable.
To this end, the party has called for an independent judicial panel of enquiry to investigate the immediate and remote causes responsible for the incessant mishaps in the air involving military aircrafts in Nigeria.
The PDP said in a statement released on its Twitter handle barely four hours ago that its request for an investigation has been influenced largely by what it described as the spate of “worsening terrorism attacks in our country.”

According to the PDP, “This demand is imperative and consistent with the demands by Nigerians who have lost faith in the ability of the APC government to conduct a transparent and credible investigation into any matter, particularly those relating to our national security.”
“Our party is saddened”, the statement further explained, “with this trend of event.”
The party noted that it “condoles with the Nigerian Airforce, the families of the officers involved in the air crash and prays for the repose of the souls of the departed officers.”
“The PDP salutes our courageous military officers and charges them not to be deterred by this very sad and unfortunate incident, but to remain vigilant & focused in their constitutional duty of protecting our nation especially at this critical point in our national life” the statement added.
